Graham Potter has claimed in his pre-match press conference that Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling can play a lot better than he has this season.
The 28-year-old has just four Premier League goals since making the move from Manchester City last summer.
With the Englishman being a member of the ‘100 club’ of goalscorers, there will have been an expectation among the supporters of Chelsea that he will have been some sort of saviour to their issues in front of goal.

This of course has not happened, and although Sterling found the net against Nottingham Forest on New Years’ Day, his toothless season has had an effect on the Blues.
Despite games in hand on the sides above them in the table, Chelsea currently sit in 10th in the league.
Sterling can do better
When asked in his press conference about Sterling’s fortunes this season, Potter claimed that he was sure the England international had more to give this season.
He said: “It’s been a challenge for him but it’s been a challenging period for everybody. There’s been a lot of change and a lot has happened, so in that regard, it’s not easy to completely settle or hit the ground running.

“There is more to come from Raheem I’m sure but he gives his best every day and we need to help him get to the level we know he can reach.”
Sterling will be hoping to feature in the league fixture against his former side tomorrow, with the Blues desperate to return to winning ways as they approach the second half of the season.
He may be under pressure however from the likes of Hakim Ziyech, who enjoyed a brilliant World Cup campaign and has a strong previous record in games against City in multiple competitions.
