Mauricio Pochettino could have been the perfect coach to get the best from Mason Mount at Chelsea.
That is according to Karl Robinson.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the pair will be crossing over at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino is about to start in his new position as the Chelsea head coach, but Mason Mount’s exit is all-but confirmed when you follow the transfer speculation.
Journalist David Ornstein has told Football Daily that Manchester United have now agreed a £55million deal with Chelsea to sign Mount. He added that the 24-year-old will now undergo a medical next week before completing the switch to Old Trafford.

English coach Robinson has suggested that Pochettino and Mount could have worked superbly well together.
“I think Mauricio would have got a lot out of him (Mount)… I would have liked to have seen him work with him,” Robinson told talkSPORT.
“I think it is quite an exciting time with him going in as a manager with the quality of players Chelsea have. I think that may be a loss down the line.”

We’ve seen pretty much every manager that has worked with Mount take a liking to him, so we suspect it would have been the same with Pochettino.
However, Chelsea fans can see the writing is on the wall and they’ll have to accept Mount is on his way.
In fairness, Christopher Nkunku would be our first pick to play in a No 10 position next season. We certainly would have preferred to resolve Mount’s future, but perhaps he may not have been in Pochettino’s starting line-up.
