Tyrique George and Levi Colwill both came through Chelsea’s academy and have shared the pitch together at senior level.
However, they will not be teammates next season, with George set to join Everton on a permanent deal.
The winger spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and clearly did enough there to convince David Moyes.
Colwill is a huge fan of George, so there is no doubt that he will be disappointed to see the 20-year-old go.
How would you rank Chelsea’s so-called “untouchables” ahead of the new season?
Here is The Chelsea Chronicle's list!
Levi Colwill backed Chelsea teammate Tyrique George for big future
Back in the 2024/25 season, Chelsea beat Southampton 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, with Colwill getting his name on the scoresheet that night.
George also managed to record a goal contribution after providing an assist as a second-half substitute.
Following the full-time whistle, Colwill praised the England Under-21 international and tipped him to have a successful career.
Speaking on TNT Sports about his teammate, Colwill said: “He’s sharp, he’s very, very sharp. Amazing player and he’s got a future ahead of him. Days like today where he came on and done really well, I’m proud for him and that assist.”
Since making his first-team debut for Chelsea, George has had some good moments. For example, his equaliser in the Blues’ 2-1 win against Fulham last year. Without it, Enzo Maresca’s side may have lost the match and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
He was not able to cement a place in Chelsea’s starting XI, though, and a permanent move elsewhere now looks to be in his best interests.

Chelsea can use Tyrique George funds for much-needed reinforcements
Chelsea are set to bank £24m for George, which can go towards their transfer kitty for this summer.
After finishing 10th in the Premier League last season, it is quite clear that Chelsea need reinforcements.
Xabi Alonso would really benefit from a dominant centre-back and consistent left-sided attacker coming in before the start of the new campaign.
Chelsea have tried to sign Granit Xhaka from Sunderland, but with Real Madrid confirming that they will not make a move for Enzo Fernandez during this transfer window, the Club World Cup holders may not actually need a new midfielder.
