Chelsea target Marco Verratti has now told senior figures at PSG that he is no longer happy at the Parc des Princes.

Well – according to Sky Sports – Chelsea are keeping an eye on the Italy international this summer as Mauricio Pochettino targets midfield reinforcements.

Fabrizio Romano – however – revealed that Verratti was close to moving to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia at the end of July, although that specific transfer pursuit has gone quiet recently.

Now – as Chelsea remain in the hunt to sign the PSG No.6 – he has told the Parisians that he no longer feels happy in Paris.

90min believe the £238,000-a-week man has informed PSG’s hierarchy that he does not approve of how Kylian Mbappe has been treated this summer.

The France international is currently being made to train away from Luis Enrique’s first-team squad, and has been put up for sale after refusing to sign a new contract.

PSG strongly believe Mbappe has an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.

Interestingly – according to the Independent – Todd Boehly has tried to take advantage of the Frenchman’s situation, holding talks with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi about a potential deal for the striker.

Chelsea should avoid Marco Verratti

While Pochettino could definitely use the 30-year-old’s vast experience at Stamford Bridge, we believe Chelsea should avoid a move for the Italian playmaker.

Verratti turns 31 in November, and Sky Sports believe PSG could demand as much as £70m.

Therefore, we believe there is far more value in maintaining the Moises Caicedo pursuit, as Chelsea would be getting a player who is nine years younger, and also one who is proven in the Premier League.

Having said that, Pochettino could still attempt to be reunited with Verratti – who he managed at PSG – if Brighton continue to be stubborn, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
