Now that the January transfer window is fast approaching, several Chelsea players are being linked with potential moves away from Stamford Bridge.
In general, Enzo Maresca has done a superb job in the first half of the season managing a large Chelsea squad. Unfortunately, there’s still bound to be a few individuals unhappy with their game time.

Christopher Nkunku ready to leave Chelsea in January
According to TBR Football, Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku is ready to leave the club in January.
It is explained that the 27-year-old’s representatives are ‘actively looking’ into finding him a new club for the New Year.
The report says that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in re-signing Nkunku. Elsewhere, Napoli, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are believed to be keen on the French forward.
TBR Football adds that Chelsea won’t stand in Nkunku’s way of leaving next month. If the player demand an exit they would sanction a loan, but any deal would need to include an option.
If Nkunku goes, it would leave a significant void in the squad. He’s an outstanding alternative to Nicolas Jackson in the attack, so signing a replacement in attack would be a no-brainer.
Chelsea have made contact about signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who certainly ticks the box as a quality frontman.
Christopher Nkunku frustration
It must be so frustrating for a player of Nkunku’s quality to be struggling for minutes. He’s stuck behind Jackson as the back-up striker, while he can’t get in ahead of Cole Palmer in the No.10 position either.
| Competition | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 15 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
| Conference League | 5 | 5 | 5 | 3 |
| Conference League qualifiers | 2 | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Carabao Cup | 2 | 2 | 3 | 0 |
As you can see above, Nkunku’s struggled for starts at Chelsea under Maresca.
The £52m forward (BBC) usually makes a positive impact when he’s on the pitch, but he’s competing with some quality teammates for starting roles.
Nkunku isn’t happy with his current Chelsea situation and his role in the squad, so a mid-season transfer won’t come as a shock. The Blues need to make sure him leaving doesn’t derail their campaign, though.
