Chelsea make contact about Benjamin Sesko

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have made contact to discuss a potential transfer move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

It is explained that the Blues have initiated contact to speak about the 21-year-old Bundesliga frontman.

The report says that the 21-year-old star is one of several strikers on Chelsea’s shortlist for next summer.

Apparently, Sesko feels prepared to make the big leap to the Premier League for the first time in his career. He signed a new long-term deal with Leipzig that runs until 2029, but this could be his final season with the German club.

Chelsea target Sesko has a gentlemen’s agreement to leave Leipzig next summer, so it’ll be intriguing to see where the talented youngsters ends up playing next.

Benjamin Sesko vs Nicolas Jackson

Many people will believe Jackson doesn’t need replacing as Chelsea’s first-choice striker. Let’s see how he compares this season to the club’s transfer target.

As you can see above, Sesko’s scored 10 goals compared to Jackson’s tally of nine. There’s not a great deal to split them as goalscorers, though.

For Chelsea, Jackson’s all-round game is just as important as what he does in and around the opposition’s penalty box. While Sesko is obviously a super talented young forward, Jackson is only 23 himself and now regularly tormenting Premier League defenders.

Edouard Mendy claims Chelsea’s Jackson has significantly improved and is now the “complete player” in attack.
