Chelsea loanee Cesare Casadei has claimed that he was close to joining an Italian club this summer instead of remaining in England.
He told Cronache di Spogliatoio that he is excited to make his debut for the club, which he is hoping to come as early as next season.
There was plenty of talk this summer over where Casadei would be playing his football. It was always known that he was going to be playing on loan for this campaign.

This is despite being one of the young players who played the most for Mauricio Pochettino during the pre-season tour of the United States.
There were plenty of reports that he could be set to return to Italy for a loan deal. Those in the top tier there have also been linked with a permanent deal for the player too.
However, he has made the move to Leicester, who currently can be seen near the top of the second tier of English football.
It didn’t take him long to make an immediate impact either, scoring a last-minute winner set up by club legend Jamie Vardy.
He has now claimed that he was close to returning to Italy, although staying in England was an idea pitched to him was the club’s idea.

He said: “I see myself here in England: in the summer there was the possibility of returning to Italy but together with Chelsea we thought that staying was the best solution to grow.
“In the last year they have invested a lot in young people, they want to build a long-term project, which is why it is normal for there to be difficulties.
“I see myself in England and I hope to succeed already from next year to make my debut in the Premier League with Chelsea.”
