Chelsea are now set to hold new conversations with Brighton over a deal to bring Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano.
So, what is the latest on Moises Caicedo and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Ecuador international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues – according to the reliable Italian journalist.
Now, Romano has shared an update on the situation.
He claims that Chelsea and Brighton will resume discussions over a deal for Caicedo next week, with Romano describing the next seven days as an “important” time in the South American’s future.

The Italian adds that Chelsea do not want to mess Brighton around, and are very keen to strike a quick agreement with the Seagulls rather than lowball them with derisory offers.
While it may seem like things are not developing for Chelsea in their pursuit of the £15,000-a-week man, Romano did add on YouTube that the deal is “advancing”.
What Chelsea will do after Moises Caicedo is signed
In an earlier update from Romano, it was revealed that Chelsea will look to add another midfielder to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad once a deal for Caicedo is finalised.
In our view, that is a sensible decision, as the Blues have lost a lot of depth in that department following the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Denis Zakaria has also returned to Juventus after his loan spell ended.
One potential arrival for Chelsea after Caicedo is signed is Romeo Lavia.

The Guardian believe Chelsea are interested in the Belgium international after Southampton were relegated, and Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri even claimed that the midfielder has discussed a move to Stamford Bridge with his agent.
As things stand, the 19-year-old seems to be the most likely player to join Chelsea after Caicedo is signed.
