It has taken a bit of time for everyone to see the very best of Moises Caicedo in Chelsea colours.

The Blues signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton nearly two years ago, paying £100m, which could rise to £115m (BBC).

After a slow start during his debut season at Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old star has just wrapped up a remarkable second campaign in Chelsea colours.

Levi Colwill hugely rates Chelsea teammate Caicedo, insisting that he’s on track to become one of the world’s very best midfielders. In fairness, we would argue he’s already in that conversation with his quality on and off the ball.

Chelsea will be approached about Xavi Simons transfer

Enzo Maresca’s side are certainly ambitious in the transfer market, and RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons was recently tipped as a potential target. Last month, attacking midfielder Simons was mentioned by a Chelsea source as someone the Blues could be looking at.

There is now a fresh update regarding the future of the Netherlands international.

According to Bild, Simons is keen on leaving Leipzig this summer.

It is explained that the creative playmaker will cost at least €70m (£60m) to sign from Leipzig. So far, Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich are the only team to express their interest in him.

The report explains that Simons has called in agent Ali Barat, who has excellent connections in England, to help solve his transfer situation. Incidentally, he was the agent that helped to broker Caicedo’s move from Brighton to Chelsea a couple of years ago.

Bild states that Barat is now expected to approach Chelsea to discuss Simons, but the player’s future is still uncertain at this stage.

Xavi Simons would light up the Premier League

Without a doubt, we think Simons would be a big hit in England. The skilful attacker has been on an exciting upwards trajectory for the last few years, so perhaps a big move is just around the corner.

The 22-year-old talent is versatile enough to shine as a winger or a No.10, so he could be a great pick up for any of the top teams in England.

From Chelsea’s perspective, they need to assess whether they need another profile like his because they already own a lot of attacking talent in the forward areas. Simons has been on the Chelsea radar for over a year, so we’re intrigued to see what happens after talks with football agent Barat.
