AC Milan have now agreed a deal to sign Yunus Musah from Valencia – a player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Yunus Musah? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to 90min – Chelsea tried to sign the United States international in January, and have remained in contact with his representatives with a view to trying again this summer.

However, AC Milan have now beaten Chelsea to Musah’s signature.

Romano believes a €20m (£17m) deal has been agreed between the Italian giants and Valencia, with the American now set to have a medical in Milan next week.

The 20-year-old will then sign a five-year contract once his medical examinations have been passed.

AC Milan have already been involved in Chelsea’s transfer window by signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic from the Blues.

Now, those at the San Siro have added another chapter, this time by pinching Musah from Chelsea.

Who Chelsea could sign instead as AC Milan agree Yunus Musah deal

Musah was – admittedly – not a primary target for Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino focuses mainly on Moises Caicedo, although he was on the shortlist.

Nevertheless, Chelsea need to cross the American off that list now, so let’s take a look at the alternatives.

One option is Romeo Lavia, who Chelsea have recently made an “ultimate approach” to sign after hearing that Liverpool had made a bid – according to Sacha Tavolieri.

However – as detailed by Football London – the Belgian has chosen Liverpool, so Chelsea have a tough task on their hands to change his mind before a deal is done.

Chelsea have also moved to sign another midfielder in Lesley Ugochukwu – according to Sky Sports, a £23.1m deal has been agreed with Rennes.

Of course – despite difficult negotiations with Brighton – Caicedo could also be signed if the situation changes.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as we expect Chelsea to sign plenty of new players across the next month.
