Chelsea’s first-team player has been left gutted that he failed to secure a move away from the club in the summer transfer window.
Now that the window has shut, Blues head coach Enzo Maresca can focus on the football and stop worrying about the revolving door of individuals at Stamford Bridge.
If you examine every Chelsea deal of the summer window, there have been so many ins and outs to reshape the squad. Ultimately, what’s left is a young and exciting squad with the talent to enjoy another really positive season.

Tyrique George upset that Chelsea transfer to Fulham failed
A lot of players departed Chelsea during a busy summer period, but Tyrique George remains with the first-team squad because his proposed switch to rivals Fulham collapsed on deadline day.
Fulham agreed to buy Chelsea winger George for £22m. However, the Blues academy graduate failed to get his move in the end.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that George was privately “really sad” with the outcome in the transfer window because he was excited by the idea of a move to Craven Cottage. Apparently, the 19-year-old attacker could end up leaving in January, depending on how the next few months go.
Romano said via his YouTube channel: “Fulham entered the race on deadline day in the afternoon… Everything was agreed with Chelsea. £22m, an important sell-on clause over 30 per cent, so everything was agreed between the parties. The deal collapsed because of documents not being signed in time.
“Tyrique George was really sad yesterday after what happened because for him it was the opportunity to go and play… In January he’s going to move again if there is no opportunity in different markets.”
George, who won Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year last season, actually enjoyed a first-team breakthrough under Maresca.
Unfortunately, it feels like the English teenager is behind Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho in the wide positions. He can provide cover in the centre-forward position, something he did in the weekend’s league win against Fulham, but he’s much more effective on the wing.
We’ve included George in the list of Chelsea’s biggest losers of the transfer window because he’s at risk of not playing too much when everyone’s fit and firing.

What Levi Colwill said about Tyrique George in April
Without a doubt, George is a really exciting youngster with bags of potential and ability. It would have been the best move for all parties if he had left to go and play regularly elsewhere, though.
Back in April, Blues defender Levi Colwill raved about George’s quality. He said: “We all know how good of a player he is. And for him to come in and score gives him a bit of a confidence boost and hopefully he keeps pushing and he tries getting into our side because that’s why he’s here, because he’s an amazing player.”
We hope to see the youngster pick himself up and fight for minutes while he’s still at the club.
