Levi Colwill has nothing but praise for one of his teammates following Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Fulham on Sunday.
It was Tyrique George and Pedro Neto who inspired Chelsea to victory after their goals at Craven Cottage.
However, Colwill also played his part in the Blues’ success. Colwill told Chelsea to up their intensity in the second half, a request that did not fall on deaf ears.
Understandably, though, George and Neto are the ones receiving credit for the team’s turnaround.

Levi Colwill hails Tyrique George as ‘amazing player’
Chelsea fans were impressed with George, but they were not the only ones. Colwill had a lot of good things to say about his teammate following his impact against Marco Silva’s men.
Speaking about George after the match, Colwill told Chelsea’s official website: “We all know how good of a player he is. And for him to come in and score gives him a bit of a confidence boost and hopefully he keeps pushing and he tries getting into our side because that’s why he’s here, because he’s an amazing player. He’s not there to sit on the bench; he’s there to come and play.”
The 22-year-old also had words for Robert Sanchez during the game. Early in the first half, Colwill had to gesture to Sanchez, telling him to play the ball on the ground.
The Chelsea goalkeeper has had some really shaky moments this season, committing five errors leading to goal. No one in the Premier League has made more.
If Sanchez can cut out those mistakes between now and the end of the campaign, while the likes of George and Neto score more goals, a top-five finish is possible. But if not, then Enzo Maresca‘s men could find themselves in serious trouble.

Alan Shearer on Tyrique George
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has also been discussing George, putting Chelsea’s comeback down to his introduction.
When Shearer analysed George’s display against Fulham on Match of the Day 2, he said: “He [Maresca] brings young Tyrique George on. 19 years old, and all of a sudden, that change changes the game.”
It will now be interesting to see whether George gets a start in Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture. They take on Everton at home next in another must-win match.
After that, the Blues still have to play against Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest so really cannot afford to drop points on Saturday.
