Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with the representatives of a Chelsea player about a potential transfer in the remaining week of the summer window.

Chelsea and Arsenal, the two London rivals, have conducted plenty of business with each other in recent years. The most recent deal saw the Blues sell Kai Havertz to the Gunners last summer.

Now, Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, 29, has been linked with a potential switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Sterling is currently training away from Chelsea’s main squad, with Blues head coach Enzo Maresca not seeing him as a part of his plans.

On top of that, journalist Kaveh Solhekol claimed via X that Sterling would prefer to stay in the Premier League. It is understood that the attacker knows he’s got no future with the Blues, so he’s now looking for a new club.

Arsenal talk with Raheem Sterling

According to HITC, Arsenal are one of the clubs to have discussions with Sterling’s representatives about a potential transfer move in this summer window.

It is explained that the winger would rather remain in England, preferably in the capital. This comes amid interest from Crystal Palace, too.

The report adds that it remains to be seen if Chelsea would consider a deal or indeed if Arsenal would be prepared to make an offer for Sterling.

Raheem Sterling and his history with big clubs

Sterling’s got a CV in English football unlike most players. It’s pretty remarkable that he’s played at Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool in his senior career.

So, could he soon be about to add Arsenal to that impressive list of clubs?

Speaking via the Premier League’s official YouTube channel last season, Enzo Fernandez hailed Sterling as a “really fast” player. A change of scenery could be what’s needed to rediscover his best form; it worked for Havertz.
