Barcelona could make a move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku in the January transfer window.

It is something that Christopher Nkunku may be open to, with the 27-year-old struggling to find starts at Chelsea this season.

Under Enzo Maresca, he has only made three in the Premier League. Nkunku got a chance in the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Monday but disappointed.

As a whole, though, Chelsea had a really poor game and can now kiss any hopes they had of winning the Premier League title goodbye.

Barcelona could make move for Christopher Nkunku if Dani Olmo issue is not resolved

Because of FFP issues, Barcelona have not been able to register Dani Olmo, whom they signed from RB Leipzig over the summer.

If this mess is not resolved, with time running out, it looks like the Catalan club could swoop for Nkunku.

According to CaughtOffside, Barcelona could consider a loan move for the Frenchman if Olmo is not registered. His agent says he wants to stay, so that is at least some good news for Barcelona.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the chance to sign Nkunku has been presented to Barcelona. But given the state of the club right now, you really do have to question how they would be able to afford his wages.

Interestingly, Chelsea are one side who are being linked with Olmo at this moment in time. In fact, it has been claimed that Chelsea have already made an enquiry for Olmo’s services.

If the Blues really do want to sign him, though, then they could face competition from their Premier League rivals.

A report from Mundo Deportivo states that the rest of the big six are all keen on the attacking midfielder.

As for Nkunku, like Olmo, he could also have several options in the new year. Nkunku has been linked to PSG and Manchester United, for example, with the latter really needing reinforcements right now.

Ruben Amorim’s men were beaten once again on Monday, losing 2-0 to Newcastle United. They need a big-name signing, such as Nkunku, and much, much more to rejuvenate themselves.
