Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali looks keen to wrap up one deal before the transfer window closes on Friday.

Chelsea have been extremely busy this summer, bringing in the likes of Joao Felix and Pedro Neto to strengthen their squad.

However, despite how active they have been in the transfer window, their business does not look to be finished yet.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho could still join Chelsea, while the club may also sign a striker ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Behdad Eghbali working on deal to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli

Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are in charge of transfers at Stamford Bridge.

However, it looks like one of the club’s owners, Eghbali, is the person who is now trying to bring Napoli’s Victor Osimhen to Chelsea.

Speaking about Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen on his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips said: “Chelsea very much on this now this week again. The money side (overall) is being worked on. But Behdad Eghbali is also now very much involved with this deal.

“That does give me a bit more confidence. I’m no way saying it will get done, but this does give us a better chance.”

If Eghbali cannot finalise a deal for Osimhen, then Chelsea could end up signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin instead.

What is Victor Osimhen’s agent saying right now?

Osimhen has also been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but his agent Roberto Calenda has suggested that the 25-year-old will be staying in Europe.

Discussing his client’s future, Calenda said: “Victor is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor still has so much to do in Europe.”

Whoever ends up signing Osimhen if he does leave Napoli will be getting a top centre-forward.

“A world-class striker,” Jose Mourinho said to AS Roma’s official website when talking about Osimhen last year.

With Nicolas Jackson and 18-year-old Marc Guiu being the only natural No.9s in Enzo Maresca‘s squad, it would be great if Chelsea did go on to land the Nigerian.

But if not, Jackson, Guiu, Felix and Christopher Nkunku, with the last two names also able to play up front, should be enough to help the Blues compete for the top four this season.

Jackson and Felix have already managed to get their names on the scoresheet in the new Premier League campaign after finding the back of the net in Chelsea’s 6-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.
