Chelsea’s 25-year-old player has reportedly just received transfer interest from a club in this season’s Champions League.

The draw for the Champions League group stages takes place on Thursday, and one of the teams in that has made contact about signing a Chelsea player on loan.

For the Blues, their European football this campaign comes in the shape of the Conference League. Enzo Maresca’s side are halfway through the Conference League play-off tie against Servette, where they lead 2-0 on aggregate from the first leg.

Stuttgart make contact about Trevoh Chalobah

Sky Sports claims on Thursday morning that German side Stuttgart have enquired about a possible loan deal for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, who’s one of several players at Stamford Bridge exiled from the first-team group.

It is understood that Chalobah, 25, is most likely to exit on loan if he finds a suitable transfer in the final two days of the summer window.

The report adds that Crystal Palace are still interested in the Blues defender if they lose Marc Guehi to Newcastle United. There’s a host of other Premier League sides keen, too.

Stuttgart finished second in last season’s German Bundesliga to qualify for this year’s Champions League. It would certainly represent a great challenge for Chalobah if he’s interested in a switch overseas.

Trevoh Chalobah interest ramping up

It’s no real surprise to hear more and more rumours about Chalobah in this final week of the transfer window.

The ball-playing centre-half is a quality player who’s too good to be sat on the sidelines not playing senior football. Speaking via BBC’s Match of the Day last year, Shaun Wright-Phillips hailed Chalobah as “superb” after one performance.

Journalist Simon Phillips reported via Substack on Thursday morning that Crystal Palace could make another attempt to sign Chalobah.
