Chelsea are actively looking to sell Trevoh Chalobah once the transfer window opens in January, despite boss Mauricio Pochettino just backing the Stamford Bridge talent.
That is according to football.london, which reports that Chelsea hope to find a suitor willing to buy Chalobah quickly. The Blues do not see a long-term future in west London for the 24-year-old after he remained at the club beyond the last window when several clubs swooped.
Chalobah attracted a wealth of transfer interest as the window wound down after falling out of Pochettino’s plans. A role was on offer for the centre-half at first when the Argentine took over at Stamford Bridge. But an injury after his games in pre-season scuppered those hopes.

Sides took note of Pochettino’s position but Chelsea complicated their hopes of sealing any last-gasp move. The Blues pushed for a permanent deal worth around £50m to let Chalobah leave. It put any deal in doubt as the defender’s possible suitors targeted an initial loan deal.
Chalobah also erected another hurdle by refusing to agree to a late transfer away from west London. Chelsea have since informed their academy product that he may never play for the club again. So, Blues chiefs are actively chasing new suitors ready to pay £50m in January.
Pochettino has stated that Chalobah remains available for selection at Chelsea, though. The Argentine said recently: “Chalobah and all the players in the squad are in my plans. Then to play is my decision. He is a Chelsea player. He needs to recover as soon as possible.”
Bayern Munich refused to accept the Blues’ proposal

Bayern Munich were among the sides to target a loan transfer for Chalobah this summer but did not agree terms with Chelsea. Bild cited Der FCB’s interest, whose boss Thomas Tuchel said Chalobah was ‘fantastic’ at Stamford Bridge. The move broke down due to the loan fee.
Chelsea were open at the end of the market to sending Chalobah to Bavaria on loan. But the Blues wanted €2-2.5m (£1.75-2m) to grant a move that did not feature an obligation to buy. Bayern Munich refused to negotiate the move any further at the terms the Blues suggested.
