Chelsea could finally be about to make their move to bring in a new striker.
Chelsea are interested in Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and are now considering making a bid for him, according to The Telegraph.
Journalist Nathan Gissing claimed earlier this month that the Blues had been discussing Duran’s name internally.
It is a bit of a surprise, with the Colombian still just 20 years of age and lacking Premier League experience.
In total, he has made 26 appearances in the English top flight and scored just two goals.

Chelsea considering making bid for Jhon Duran
Chelsea have discussed Duran’s name and we have now arrived at a point where it seems like they are considering making an official proposal for the Colombian.
It is a move that may appeal to Duran. While Villa are doing much better in the Premier League than Mauricio Pochettino‘s side right now, Chelsea are still one of the biggest clubs in the world.
From their perspective, though, it is difficult to see what the appeal behind the Colombia international is.
The above is not to say that Duran is a bad player. But you just cannot see how he really improves this Chelsea team.
Perhaps the Blues just want another body, especially with Armando Broja’s future in doubt. The 22-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
However, if Duran is the man that Chelsea are eyeing up to replace Broja, then the club would be better off just keeping hold of their striker.
Broja has more Premier League experience than the player who could be coming in to succeed him and knows Chelsea so well after coming through their academy. Honestly, it is a bit of a weird one and something we are not totally on board with to say the least.
