Chelsea are prepared to pay more Gabri Veiga’s current release clause to sign him from Celta Vigo.
That is according to a report from 90min.
The transfer speculation surrounding Gabri Veiga, 21, has started to intensify in the past few days.
The Evening Standard recently claimed that Chelsea will step up interest in the Celta Vigo playmaker if they sell Mason Mount this summer.
Now, Mount is rumoured to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge. Journalist David Ornstein has told Football Daily that Mount will have his medical next week ahead of a £60million transfer to Manchester United.

90min claims that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United have all indicated they’re all willing to meet Veiga’s €40million (£34million) release clause or pay a bit extra in installments.
It is understood that the four Premier League clubs have already held talks with super agent Jorge Mendes about the 21-year-old La Liga star.
The report claims that the Spanish club are adamant buyers will need to trigger the release clause for the attacking midfielder, who’s also attracting interest from Marseille and Napoli.
It’s going to be very interesting to see who steps forward first with a serious offer for Veiga.

Described as ‘spectacular’ by Spanish U21 coach Santi Denia [Marca], Veiga is clearly a very talented youngster.
He chipped in with 11 league goals last season for Celta Vigo, which is more than anybody in the Chelsea squad managed in the 2022/23 campaign.
There’s no real surprise that teams may be willing to pay more than £34million if it gives them an edge in a busy transfer race.
We would certainly like to see him in the Premier League next season, especially in Chelsea colours. Our only reservation would be whether he’s ready right now to make a big impact in the starting XI.
