Chelsea aren’t going to make approach for £76m player in January despite reports

Chelsea will have the chance to bring in a new striker in January when the transfer window opens.

Going into 2025, Chelsea have been linked with several forwards, including the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.

However, it now looks like the club will definitely not make a move for one of those strikers in January.

There is also a slim chance of Chelsea signing Liam Delap in the winter transfer window as the Ipswich Town star continues to be linked with a switch to west London.

Chelsea not planning to sign Randal Kolo Muani in January

On Sunday, reports from France emerged claiming that Chelsea are interested in signing Kolo Muani next month and would contact Paris Saint-Germain about a deal soon.

However, those rumours have since been quashed by journalist Ben Jacobs, who claimed on X that no approach is expected and that there is “nothing imminent” in regard to the Blues signing a new striker.

This is not the first time there has been talk about Kolo Muani and Chelsea. In October, it was reported that Kolo Muani had been offered to Chelsea.

PSG paid big money for the Frenchman, signing him from Eintracht Frankfurt in a £76.4m deal last year.

Chelsea fans don’t want Randal Kolo Muani

If Kolo Muani does not end up moving to Stamford Bridge in January, it does not look like too many Chelsea supporters will be disappointed with that.

Upon hearing that the club are interested in him, many took to social media to make it clear that they do not want the 26-year-old to be signed.

One Chelsea fan warned the club to stay away from Kolo Muani, saying: “Move away from that Kolo Muani deal and bring in Liam Delap.”

Another Chelsea supporter thinks signing him would simply be counterproductive. They said: “Kolo Muani to Chelsea is a step backwards.”

“Big fat no,” another user on X said, while another posted: “Kolo Muani is not the one.”

It is hardly a surprise, as Kolo Muani has not really impressed since his big-money move to PSG. Last season, for example, the France international scored just six goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances.

Kolo Muani does not look too desperate to leave the Parc des Princes either. Last month, Kolo Muani spoke about his future, claiming that he was not thinking about a PSG exit.
