Club Brugge know they cannot keep hold of Antonio Nusa in 2024 amid interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and a raft of Premier League rivals in the Norway forward’s transfer.

That is according to Ben Jacobs, who reports that several Premier League sides are scouting Nusa this term. The 18-year-old also has a few suitors in Italy and France after catching the eye at the Jan Breydel Stadium. But Chelsea are the most aware of his future at Club Brugge.

Talks in the summer about Nusa moving to Stamford Bridge alerted Chelsea to the challenge to secure his transfer from Club Brugge. The Langhus-born talent will not rush to get a move as he will only try to leave the Blauw-Zwart if and when the right opportunity presents itself.

Chelsea want to wait until next summer to target Nusa’s transfer

Chelsea accepted that Nusa’s position would complicate any pursuit this summer so paused further talks with Club Brugge. The Blues will now look to revisit his situation next summer. But a move in January could come to the fore if Stamford Bridge chiefs feel forced to swoop.

The west London natives would prefer to avoid targeting his transfer in January. But they will consider bidding if a rival suitor forces their hand. Chelsea may also spark a race themselves if Mauricio Pochettino cannot get his current attacking options offering a consistent output.

But the priority at Stamford Bridge would still be to target a more experienced attacker who can solve their issues. So, Chelsea hope to wait until the summer, knowing that Club Brugge also accept they cannot keep Nusa at the club beyond 2024 given the interest in his transfer.

Reports by HLN have credited Chelsea, Arsenal and a raft of teams from around Europe with an interest in Nusa. The Blues and Gunners, along with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Marseille sent their scouts to watch Club Brugge on Thursday night.

They hoped to see Nusa face Besiktas in the Europa Conference League. But the forward did not appear for the first time this season due to an injury. He had offered two goals and three assists over his 11 outings in 2023/24 yet to earn his Norway debut and assisted three goals.

Such a creative start to his senior international career helped to show why Chelsea targeted Nusa’s transfer this summer. 90min – which also cites Arsenal’s interest – reported the Blues bid £26m. But they failed to agree on terms with Club Brugge after swooping late in August.
