There’s now real belief at Chelsea that Levi Colwill is going to sign a new contract with them.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
There’s been plenty of recent speculation regarding the future of Levi Colwill, who’s due back at Chelsea this summer for pre-season after a successful loan spell at Brighton.
So, will the 20-year-old defender be promoted into the Blues first team next season?

Phillips has claimed on his Substack that he’s heard from “very good sources” there’s confidence Colwill is going to sign a contract extension with Chelsea.
It is explained that the centre-back has always been planning to speak with Mauricio Pochettino once he finished playing with England this summer at the Under-21s European Championship. Incidentally, he’s played a key role in the Young Lions reaching this weekend’s final against Spain.
Phillips added that there shouldn’t be any issues when it comes to Colwill sorting a new Chelsea deal. Pochettino is believed to be a big fan of his, too.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi described Colwill as “fantastic” last season (The Argus).
It seems like he’s impressing everyone when he steps on a football pitch, so let’s hope Chelsea fans get to watch him on a weekly basis next season.
Football.London reported this week that Liverpool have made another enquiry for Colwill. Chelsea are determined to keep their youngster, though.
We’ve seen a lot of special talents come through the Blues academy in the past decade, and many supporters feel Colwill could be the next big thing off the production line.
