Trevoh Chalobah’s Chelsea career looks over after the central defender was left out of the club’s pre-season tour.

Trevoh Chalobah is now willing to leave Chelsea, with the 25-year-old seemingly up for sale after his omission from Enzo Maresca‘s squad.

However, Chalobah is not the only player who Chelsea are trying to get rid of. After selling Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall, it looks like there could be more departures at Stamford Bridge this summer.

At the same time, there could be more arrivals as well, as the Blues are yet to sign a winger and a striker who is guaranteed to play in the first team this upcoming season.

Chelsea open to selling Cesare Casadei and David Datro Fofana

Cesare Casadei and David Datro Fofana are both young players who have not been at Chelsea for too long.

Nevertheless, it looks like neither player has a future in west London. According to HITC, Chelsea have told the midfielder and striker that they can leave the club on permanent deals after telling Chalobah the same thing.

Casadei actually played under Maresca last season while on loan at Leicester City, while Fofana had a productive loan spell at Burnley. In total, the Ivorian scored four goals in 15 Premier League appearances for the Clarets.

It is clear, though, that the pair have not done enough to convince Chelsea to keep hold of them this summer.

Chelsea should consider keeping David Datro Fofana

Coming through Chelsea’s academy, many supporters would have wanted the club to keep hold of Chalobah.

However, Chelsea are stacked in central defence, possessing the likes of new signing Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana, who can all play there. In the end, someone had to be sacrificed.

They are not blessed with that kind of depth up front, though, which is why they should consider retaining Fofana if they cannot sign another centre-forward this summer.

Again, he showed a lot of promise while out on loan at Burnley for the second half of the 2023/24 season. But the above does not seem like a viable option for the club.
