Chelsea intend to submit another bid for Moises Caicedo after the Brighton No.25’s agent made a 24-hour trip for further talks.
That is according to Ben Jacobs.
So, what is the latest on Moises Caicedo and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Guardian – talks between Chelsea and Brighton recently came to a halt, with a huge gap in valuation proving to be the main stumbling block.
However – as detailed by Fabrizio Romano – negotiations have resumed, as Chelsea are also hoping to sign Robert Sanchez from the Seagulls as well.
Now, Jacobs believes another bid from Chelsea is on the way, after Todd Boehly saw an £80m offer for Caicedo rejected.
The CBS Sports journalist wrote on Twitter: “Moises Caicedo’s agent recently made a 24-hour trip to America to hold a meeting with Brighton. As revealed, was always likely in hope of a breakthrough. Was made clear Caicedo wants #CFC. Brighton stuck to their position but talks termed positive. Chelsea intend to bid again.”

It may not be a hugely significant development, although it is a step in the right direction for Chelsea.
Brighton are said to want £100m for Caicedo this summer – who has been described as a “machine” – after seeing Declan Rice join Arsenal in a deal worth £105m.
Moises Caicedo desperate for Chelsea move
Amid ongoing talks between Chelsea and Brighton, there is a strong desire from Caicedo for the deal to materialise.
Jacobs told Give Me Sport that the Ecuador international will be “very unhappy” if he doesn’t move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Caicedo was even said to be telling Brighton fans at the club’s awards evening that he hopes to leave the Amex Stadium, although witnesses said he did not name a specific club – according to Sussex World.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Caicedo saga continues to drag out.
