Chelsea are now being linked with a Champions League attacker who’s previously earned praise from Jadon Sancho.

There’s so many talented forwards in the current Chelsea squad, including Jadon Sancho, but the Blues are still frequently mentioned in the transfer rumour mill.

Sancho, 24, made the switch in the summer to Stamford Bridge from Manchester United on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy. So far, the Englishman’s transfer move has been an inspired one.

The left-winger has quickly broken into Enzo Maresca’s strongest XI, creating three assists in four appearances to date. Sancho has already started to prove Rio Ferdinand right with his Chelsea form.

Chelsea keen on Jaime Gittens

According to Bild, Chelsea are one of the top clubs in the Premier League to turn their attention towards Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.

It is explained that Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham scouts have all been to recent Dortmund games to watch the 20-year-old English attacker in action.

Gittens, who usually plays as a left-winger, is developing into an important player for the German giants.

He’s already scored four goals and created two assists in nine appearances across all competitions this season. This has included a couple of eye-catching performances in the Champions League against Club Brugge and Celtic, too.

Here is a look at the youngster’s record so far this season:

The next Jadon Sancho

Sancho made a name for himself as a talented English winger when he was a youngster at Dortmund. It’s the same route that England midfielder Jude Bellingham took as well. Now, Gittens may be following in their path.

Sancho described Gittens as a “baller” last month via Instagram, with the pair overlapping in Dortmund last season.

We wouldn’t say that Chelsea need to invest in any extra wingers at this moment in time, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Bundesliga ace develops now he’s playing regular first-team football.

Described as “incredible” by Emre Can last month via Daily Record, Gittens is someone we could picture playing in the Premier League later in his career as the top English sides eye him.
