Offloading Carney Chukwuemeka permanently this summer has proven to be a difficult task for Chelsea.
That is largely because of the price tag that Chelsea have put on Chukwuemeka. It had been thought that they were looking for £40m for the midfielder.
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Chukwuemeka on loan again, but the Blues prefer a sale.
But at £40m, the German club are unlikely to re-sign the 21-year-old during this transfer window.

Chelsea ready to lower Carney Chukwuemeka’s asking price
It is still possible that Dortmund end up with Chukwuemeka, with Chelsea now reportedly ready to slash their valuation of the player.
According to Bild, the Club World Cup winners are now prepared to sell Chukwuemeka for just €25m (£21.5m), which could tempt Dortmund to do a permanent deal.
If the Bundesliga side do decide to make a bid for the England youth international, then they could face competition from another European giant.
It has been claimed that Chukwuemeka’s agents have sounded out Juventus over a potential move to the Allianz Stadium.
It remains to be seen where Chukwuemeka ends up. But one thing is clear: he does not have a future at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca has no room for the former Aston Villa youth player, handing him just one start last season before his loan move to Dortmund.

The club Carney Chukwuemeka wants to join this summer
A switch to Juventus could be appealing, while it has also been reported that West Ham United have some interest in Chukwuemeka.
However, it is believed that Chukwuemeka’s preference is to return to Dortmund. They now just have to agree a fee with Chelsea, which does not sound too difficult if his new price tag really is £21.5m.
As the Conference League holders start to run out of clubs to sell to, perhaps the possibility of another loan deal could also open up for Dortmund. Ultimately, as the transfer window goes on, they may eventually end up getting what they want.
