Chelsea have reportedly made “fresh contact” with a high-profile attacker who’s on their transfer radar.
When you examine the current Blues squad, there’s real quality with both the starting XI and the depth behind it. In fact, they have two superb options for each of the attacking spots.
Nicolas Jackson is supported by Christopher Nkunku for the striker position, while Joao Felix is the understudy to Cole Palmer in the No.10 role. As for the wide spots, Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto are competing for the right wing, plus Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk are options on the left.
Chelsea frontman Jackson has started the new season on fire, scoring four goals in five games in the Premier League. Ian Wright has tipped Jackson to become a prolific goalscorer after his excellent form in recent weeks.
However, Enzo Maresca’s side are still linked in the transfer rumour mill with alternative options in attack.

Chelsea make fresh contact for Victor Osimhen
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have initiated “new contact” with the entourage of Victor Osimhen as they still want to sign him.
The Blues were heavily linked in the summer with a move for the 25-year-old striker, but he ended up leaving Napoli and joining Galatasaray on loan.
TEAMtalk’s report claims that Chelsea have held fresh talks with Osimhen’s camp to discuss a possible move to Stamford Bridge in 2025.
It is explained that the Nigeria international is still top of the Blues’ striker wish list, but they face competition from Juventus for his signature.
In addition, Maresca’s side are in discussions to see if a January transfer is possible because of the player’s exit clause in his Galatasaray loan. If not, it sounds like they could return next summer with a fresh move.
Do Chelsea need him?
Osimhen has been one of the top forwards in Europe in recent years. His record of 76 goals in 133 Napoli appearances speaks for itself.
Speaking via The Rest Is Football earlier this year, Gary Lineker calleded Osimhen an “incredibly quick” striker. The truth is he’s fast, strong and prolific, so you can see why he’s an attractive target.
The fantastic start to the season from Jackson may lead Chelsea to believe they’ve found their solution in attack, but it’s probably a little premature to say that.
We’d like the club to keep an eye on Osimhen moving forward. However, Jackson is in a position right now where he’s got the chance to prove himself and make the Blues scrap any plans to sign a replacement.
