Everyone knows that Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers is one of Chelsea’s top targets this summer.
Rogers recently discussed his future while at the World Cup with the Three Lions, claiming that he does not think he is worth his reported price tag.
It has been reported that Villa value the attacking midfielder at £130m, but that is not the only thing that could make signing him difficult for Chelsea.
Andrey Santos’ full skill set wasn’t utilised at Chelsea 😔
Chelsea wasting too much on Morgan Rogers chase
Despite Villa’s asking price and rival interest from Arsenal, according to The Athletic, Chelsea have not ended their pursuit of Rogers.
It is not hard to understand why Chelsea want the England international so badly. He ticks so many boxes for them.
Rogers can play on the left, is still young at 23 and has Premier League experience. Perhaps most importantly, though, he is capable of making an impact in English football’s top division right now.
However, it does feel as though too much time is being spent on an individual they are very likely to miss out on.

The Club World Cup winners are not going to spend £130m on Rogers, and even if they are willing to, should Arsenal match that bid, the Villa man will surely choose them.
The Gunners are Premier League champions and will be in the Champions League next season, unlike their London rivals.
Ultimately, by the time Chelsea turn to alternatives, the market could look much worse compared to now. There are still some good options out there, but for how long remains to be seen.
Who Chelsea could sign instead of Morgan Rogers
Many Chelsea fans would welcome the addition of AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, who is a more natural fit for the left wing than Rogers.
Leao wants to leave Milan this summer so should be an attainable target for Xabi Alonso.
The Chelsea Chronicle also understands that Chelsea are considering Andreas Schjelderup, who starred for Norway at this year’s World Cup.
