Nicolas Jackson could still find his place in the Chelsea team in danger, despite his excellent form.
Nicolas Jackson has started this season strongly, scoring two goals against West Ham United last weekend.
Nevertheless, it looks like Chelsea are still searching for a centre-forward after missing out on Victor Osimhen in the summer.
Jackson is already facing a threat from Christopher Nkunku, who bagged a hat-trick against Barrow last night. Enzo Maresca loved what he saw from Nkunku, praising him for his overall contribution.

Chelsea scouted Victor Boniface in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-3 win against Wolfsburg
Last Saturday, Chelsea beat West Ham 3-0, the game where Jackson scored his brace.
A day later in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen took on Wolfsburg and won the match at the death thanks to Victor Boniface.
According to TBR, Chelsea had scouts at that game to watch Boniface and have been tracking the 23-year-old in recent weeks.
Their report states that despite being happy with Jackson, the Blues still believe that they are short in the centre-forward position. Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres is another striker believed to be on Chelsea’s radar.
Should Chelsea sign Victor Boniface?
You cannot argue that Boniface would be a huge upgrade on Jackson if one at all. Last season, the Nigerian scored 14 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances.
Jackson also managed to net 14 times in his league, though he did play more games than Boniface. But the point still stands.
There is nothing to suggest that Boniface is a better player than Nkunku either. The Frenchman was one of the best goalscorers during his spell in the Bundesliga, netting 16 times during his final season RB Leipzig.
The above is not saying that Boniface is a bad striker. His manager, Xabi Alonso, has actually gone as far as to describe him as “complete” (Sport Bild). But right now, you would probably take both Jackson and Nkunku over the Nigeria international.
