Chelsea could be about to find out what Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens plans to do in the January transfer window.

Jamie Gittens has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month. It has been claimed that Chelsea recently made an enquiry for Gittens as they look to strengthen their attack.

He has really impressed for Borussia Dortmund, scoring four goals in seven Champions League games this season.

Chelsea may have to wait until the summer to sign the England U21 international, though.

Borussia Dortmund expect Jamie Gittens to stay this month

Chelsea’s interest in Gittens is not a shock; he is one of the most talented young players in Europe right now.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Dortmund believe that the 20-year-old will remain with them for the rest of the season.

A deal during the January transfer window does not seem completely impossible, though, with the same outlet suggesting that something could happen if a £75m bid is made.

Gittens is “highly likely” to leave Dortmund in the summer if he does not depart the club this month and they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Alejandro Garnacho a Jamie Gittens alternative

Another wide man who has been linked with a move to west London this month is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

Last week, it was reported that Chelsea made an enquiry about signing Garnacho, who is also thought to be attracting strong interest from Napoli following their decision to sell Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.

TEAMtalk’s report says Chelsea are now considering whether to bid for Garnacho, with a deal for Gittens looking complicated at the moment.

Garnacho looks way more attainable, with the Argentine yet to win over Ruben Amorim. He has made just four starts in the Premier League under the Portuguese since his arrival at Old Trafford.

Ultimately, there is probably a really good chance of Chelsea signing Garnacho from their rivals this month.
