Chelsea are one of several clubs who are thought to be interested in signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Viktor Gyokeres could not score in his side’s heavy 5-1 loss against Chelsea‘s London rivals Arsenal on Tuesday night.

However, the 26-year-old is still having a stunning season. In 20 appearances, he has scored 24 goals.

It is no surprise that so many big clubs are now being linked with him. It has been claimed that Chelsea see Gyokeres as one option for the 2025 summer transfer window.

Chelsea could miss out on Viktor Gyokeres to Manchester United

While Chelsea may be interested in Gyokeres, it looks like they could have some convincing to do.

According to The Sun, the Swede has his heart set on joining their Premier League rivals Manchester United.

It is a move that would see him swiftly reunite with former manager Ruben Amorim, who left Sporting for United this month.

The Sweden international has a €100m (£83m) release clause in his contract, but it has been reported that Sporting could sell Gyokeres for just £58m.

Barcelona interested in Viktor Gyokeres

On top of Chelsea and United, Barcelona also appear to be admirers of Gyokeres after his recent exploits in Portugal.

However, The Sun’s report states that Gyokeres’ preference to move to the Premier League has seen Barcelona turn their attention elsewhere.

Still, with the La Liga club having seemingly looked at him, they are still another team Chelsea may have to be concerned about.

For now, though, Chelsea do not actually have to worry about their striker situation. While they could do with an extra body in their squad, especially if Christopher Nkunku goes on to depart, Nicolas Jackson is doing a job for them at the moment.

In 12 Premier League appearances this season, the Senegal international has scored seven goals. Regarding his deputy, PSG are interested in re-signing Nkunku.
