The future of one Chelsea central midfielder is reportedly up in the air going into the final few days of the summer transfer window.
It looks like everything is falling into place for Blues head coach Enzo Maresca to work with the talented squad of players at Stamford Bridge. His side’s 6-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday is a sign of the quality at his disposal.
However, there’s so many individuals on the books that are currently working apart from the senior squad. Many Chelsea players are training separately in a loan group, so how many will get fresh moves before the window closes on Friday?

Chelsea value Alex Matos at £10m
According to The Athletic, Chelsea think their young midfielder Alex Matos is currently worth £10m.
The report claims that the 19-year-old talent is set to leave either on loan or permanently this week, but his type of exit is still currently unclear.
It was claimed by The Athletic in July that Matos was attracting interest this summer from several clubs. Apparently, he’s been looked at by teams in the Championship, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.
However, with just three days left in this summer window, time is running out for players to secure transfer moves.
What should the Blues do with Alex Matos?
Matos has played two senior games for Chelsea since he arrived at the club from Norwich City in 2023, but the truth is he’s still a young prospect who’s not had much of a look-in.
The aggressive central midfielder should be sent out on another loan. However, if any club wants to step forward with an eight-figure bid, you couldn’t blame the Blues for accepting it.
Mauricio Pochettino described Matos as “talented” last year via Guardian Series, which he showed during a loan at Huddersfield Town in the Championship last season. It feels like it’s a long way off before he’s ready to break into Chelsea’s first team, though.
It would be great for the Blues to get as many as possible transfers in the next 72 hours.
