Bayern Munich now want just €20m (£17m) to sell Sadio Mane this summer – amid talk that the German giants hope Chelsea make a bid.

That is according to Sky Germany.

So, what is the situation involving Chelsea and Sadio Mane? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it was Christian Falk who claimed that Bayern Munich are hoping for Chelsea to take the Senegal international off their hands this summer, after his disappointing debut campaign at the Allianz Arena.

Mane scored just 12 goals in 38 games throughout the 2022/23 campaign following a £35m move from Liverpool in June 2022.

Now – according to Sky Germany – the Bayern Munich No.17 is available for a bargain price, with Chelsea among the clubs to be linked with a move for his signature.

Respected journalist Dean Jones added that he could see Todd Boehly making a move for Mane, when discussing rumours that Chelsea are keen on the 31-year-old with Give Me Sport.

Chelsea should bid for Sadio Mane

In our view, Mane represents the ideal striker signing for Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

A story from the Independent claims that the Argentine has pleaded with Chelsea’s recruitment team to find some experienced attackers, in order to provide balance to the frontline.

The likes of Paulo Dybala and Dusan Vlahovic were mentioned in that article, although Mane would arguably be a more sensible signing than either of them if Pochettino is looking for experience.

Mane amassed 111 goals in 263 Premier League appearances during his time at Southampton and Liverpool, winning almost everything there is to win at Anfield.

The Senegalese forward would arrive at Stamford Bridge with plenty of experience, which could help the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke develop their immense potential as they learn from a very clever attacker.
