Inter Milan are now planning to sell Andre Onana to Manchester United and use the money to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, what are the details involving Andre Onana and Romelu Lukaku? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to The Sun – Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of the Inter Milan No.24 and wants him in between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.

However, it seems as if Inter Milan are planning to send the 27-year-old goalkeeper to Old Trafford.

Gazzetta dello Sport believe Manchester United are ready to spend €50m (£43m) on a deal for Onana amid doubts over the quality of David de Gea.

The Italian news outlet claim that the offer will be accepted by the UEFA Champions League finalists, and those at the San Siro will then use the money to make a bid for Lukaku.

Inter Milan have attempted to bring the Belgium international back on another loan deal, although Chelsea are refusing to sanction another temporary move for the 30-year-old.

Those at Stamford Bridge want a permanent exit for Lukaku, and are even willing to accept a £63.5m loss after putting a £34m price tag on his head, according to the Mirror.

Onana & Lukaku update is bittersweet for Chelsea

In our view, this is mixed news for the Blues.

On one hand, it is great to see that Inter Milan will soon have the finances to sign Lukaku on a permanent basis, as Chelsea need to offload the Belgian, and are right to demand no more loan exits.

The man Thomas Tuchel called “world class” simply hasn’t cut it at Chelsea, and it would be best for all parties to move on.

However, the fact Inter Milan are set to sell Chelsea target Onana to Manchester United, a direct rival for the Blues, is not the outcome Pochettino would have hoped for.

Now, it seems that a move for Porto No.99 Diogo Costa is the most realistic option if Chelsea are to sign a new goalkeeper this summer – A Bola believe the Blues are plotting a bid for the Portugal international.

Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Inter Milan, as Onana’s move to Manchester United could see more than just Lukaku leave Chelsea – the Italian giants are also in talks to sign Trevoh Chalobah.
