Crystal Palace seemingly have their eyes on a couple of Chelsea players right now as they look to bolster their squad further.

The above includes Trevoh Chalobah, who has been frozen out at Chelsea and is now being linked with a move to Crystal Palace.

Palace are contemplating making a swoop for Chalobah and may decide to act soon as Newcastle United try to wrap up a deal for their central defender Marc Guehi.

Chalobah, though, is not the only Chelsea player on the Eagles’ radar by the looks of things.

Dougie Freedman a fan of Carney Chukwuemeka

If Chalobah does go on to sign for Palace this summer, then he could be joined by current Chelsea teammate Carney Chukwuemeka.

According to South London Press, Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman is an admirer of Chukwuemeka and the Eagles are currently keeping tabs of his situation at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder did not get too many opportunities in pre-season under Enzo Maresca, so Chelsea may not be against letting him go.

It has been claimed that Chukwuemeka has a £40m release clause in his contract, which may prove to be a bit too much for Palace.

Carney Chukwuemeka’s transfer fee

Selling Chukwuemeka for £40m would see Chelsea double their profit on the 20-year-old. The Blues signed him from Aston Villa for £20m back in 2022.

However, with Chukwuemeka being unable to kick on following his move to Chelsea, it seems unlikely that they will get that for him.

The England U20 international has missed a lot of games for the Blues because of injuries so has not really been able to showcase his talent. The most Chelsea can probably hope for if they do decide to sell him is £20m.

From Chukwuemeka’s perspective, he would be wise to accept the move if Palace come knocking.

The new Chelsea manager has already shown that he will not be relying on the former Villa youngster this term after overlooking him in pre-season. And that is understandable, given all of the midfield and attacking options Maresca currently has.
