Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez would be happy to join Chelsea and has always fancied playing in the Premier League.
That is according to Dean Jones.
So, what is the latest on Lautaro Martinez and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to 90min – Chelsea are in talks with Inter Milan over a deal for the Argentina international.
Now – speaking to Give Me Sport – Jones has added some insight regarding how Martinez feels about a move to Stamford Bridge.
The journalist said: “There’s definitely a conversation to be had there. Lautaro has always fancied the idea of playing in the Premier League and I think he’s very open minded about the idea of joining Chelsea, if it could happen.”

A story from The Times – arguably the strongest of any source mentioned so far – claimed that Mauricio Pochettino views his fellow countryman as one of the best strikers in Europe, and would love to have him at Chelsea.
Martinez proved himself as exactly that during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring 28 goals in 57 appearances as Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia and reached the UEFA Champions League final.
Chelsea could sign Martinez in swap deal
By the sounds of it, Chelsea and Inter Milan are involved in plenty of negotiations this summer.
The Blues have already spoken to the Italian giants about several deals, including talks over Romelu Lukaku – who wants to stay at the San Siro – as well as Kalidou Koulibaly and Andre Onana.
In our view, Inter Milan will not have the finances needed to sign Lukaku permanently, and Chelsea may not be open to another loan, so a player-plus-cash deal involving Martinez could be on.

Whatever happens, Chelsea certainly seem to have a few players who Inter Milan would be open to taking in exchange for Martinez, if the South American pushes to join Pochettino in west London.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Stamford Bridge, as anything could happen this summer.
