Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is already eyeing his next big signing at Stamford Bridge.

Over the summer, Chelsea welcomed the likes of Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian and Alejandro Garnacho to the club.

The Blues spent big on Pedro, signing the forward from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £60m deal. However, he has been worth every penny so far.

Pedro has already scored five goals for Chelsea since joining them in July. Daniel Sturridge recently lauded Pedro, hailing him as the most underrated signing of the summer, and he could soon be joined by another elite attacking talent in the new year.

Enzo Maresca could push for Morgan Rogers signing

Chelsea were interested in signing Morgan Rogers in the summer transfer window, but Aston Villa were extremely reluctant to sell one of their star players.

However, the Club World Cup winners’ interest in the attacking midfielder does not seem to have gone away.

According to TEAMtalk, Enzo Maresca could push for Rogers to be signed when the transfer window opens again in January.

It will not be an easy deal for Chelsea to complete, though, with the same outlet claiming that Villa value the 23-year-old at £100m. And that is not Chelsea’s only problem.

TEAMtalk’s report also states that Manchester City and Pep Guardiola could make their own move for Rogers in 2026.

The Englishman was once on City’s books before being sold to Middlesbrough in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Chelsea were ready to use Nicolas Jackson to sign Morgan Rogers

The last transfer window was a busy one for Chelsea, who allowed Nicolas Jackson to join Bayern Munich on loan.

However, The Chelsea Chronicle understands that before that, Chelsea were prepared to offer Jackson to Villa in their bid to land Rogers.

While the Villans did not sign Jackson in the end, they did manage to bring in Jadon Sancho, who played alongside the Senegal international at Stamford Bridge last season.

Sancho will face his former side when Villa take on Chelsea in December. Chelsea will come up against Jackson much sooner, though, with Maresca’s men facing Bayern later this month.
