There could be quite a few exits at Chelsea before the transfer window closes next week.

Raheem Sterling is almost certain to be one after his Chelsea shirt number was taken off him and handed to new signing Pedro Neto.

Unsurprisingly, Sterling is now keen to depart Chelsea, who confirmed the signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. Felix will be expected to play some games on the left, Sterling’s preferred position.

As well as the England international, Axel Disasi could also be heading for the exit door, despite the central defender having only joined the Blues last year.

Chelsea could replace Axel Disasi

If Axel Disasi does join Newcastle, for example, Chelsea will still have Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile for the centre-back positions.

Renato Veiga, another summer signing, can also play in central defence. Nevertheless, it looks like Chelsea could still move for another centre-half if the above happens.

According to The Guardian, Enzo Maresca could target a new centre-back if the club do go on to sell Disasi.

With the transfer window closing next week, though, they will not have too much time to replace him.

Liverpool’s Joe Gomez could replace Axel Disasi at Chelsea

One central defender who is currently being linked with a move to Chelsea is Liverpool’s Joe Gomez.

Chelsea have Gomez on their radar and with Disasi possibly leaving the club, it looks like they could make a swoop for him.

Disasi did not have the worst debut season at Chelsea. The 26-year-old, who joined the Blues from AS Monaco in a £38.8m deal, won 2.4 aerial duels per game in the Premier League last term. It was the highest average in Chelsea’s squad, according to WhoScored.

However, the club still seem open to offloading Disasi and potentially replacing him with somebody else.

With the options that they already have, though, it may not be absolutely necessary for them to sign Gomez.
