Chelsea are set for a very busy end to the transfer window, with arrivals and departures both possible.

Following Liam Delap’s hamstring injury, Chelsea could sign a new striker before the 7pm deadline.

It has been claimed that Chelsea have discussed potentially bringing in Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.

There are also expected to be exits, with youngster Tyrique George likely to leave Stamford Bridge.

AS Roma confident of signing Tyrique George

While AS Roma were facing competition from RB Leipzig, the Italian club look to have won the race for George.

According to a report on Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are closing in on the signing of George from Chelsea.

The report states that the Serie A outfit are growing in confidence that they will land the winger, who replaced the injured Delap against Fulham over the weekend.

A move to the Stadio Olimpico would see George drop down from the Champions League to the Europa League. However, Roma are actually one of the favourites to win the tournament, so the 19-year-old could end up getting his hands on another European trophy if he joins Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

George was, of course, part of the Chelsea team who managed to win the Conference League last season.

Former Premier League star urges Chelsea to keep hold of Tyrique George

Chelsea’s solution to Delap’s injury appears to be recalling Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland.

Former Premier League defender Curtis Davies, though, thinks George could be another option for them.

Davies discussed George following Delap’s injury, saying: “We’ve just seen Tyrique George have to come on up front and he’s an exciting player but he might move on and this is the PSR issue.

“If they get a scan back and Liam Delap is out for a couple of months they couldn’t possibly let George go.”

However, it is unlikely that Chelsea will turn down the opportunity to sell George this summer. Being an academy product, they can offload him for pure profit.

George will also want regular minutes, and once everyone at the club is fit, he will certainly not get that. George’s natural position is left winger, and Chelsea have bought both Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho during this transfer window.
