Chelsea failed to land any of their centre-forward targets during the summer transfer window.
The likes of Victor Osimhen, Jhon Duran and Benjamin Sesko were all said to have been on Chelsea‘s radar.
In the end, though, the Blues could not sign any of them. However, when the transfer window reopens, the club could return for Osimhen.
It has been claimed that Chelsea have already made fresh contact with Osimhen’s entourage.

Dusan Vlahovic was never a priority for Chelsea
Osimhen was not the only striker from Serie A who was linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, it was reported that Chelsea were interested in Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
However, Fabrizio Romano says he was never someone whom the Blues actually tried to sign.
Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer expert said: “Another striker update is that Dusan Vlahovic could sign a new contract at Juventus despite links with Chelsea in the summer. I’m told it was never a concrete possibility as it was never a priority for the Blues, who were looking for different players.”
Dusan Vlahovic ship has sailed for Chelsea
When he is fit, Vlahovic can be a top striker. Last season, for example, the 24-year-old scored 16 goals in 33 Serie A appearances for Juventus.
However, it does look like the Vlahovic to Chelsea ship has sort of sailed now. The Blues seem way more interested in other centre-forwards, such as Osimhen and Duran.
With the way Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have been playing this season, maybe the club will even decide against signing a new No.9 next year.
Jackson has scored four goals in six Premier League appearances, while Nkunku recently scored a hat-trick in the Carabao Cup.
All in all, there is no guarantee that Chelsea will sign a new striker in 2025. And if they do decide to do so, it is highly unlikely to be Vlahovic, who cost Juventus £66.6m.
As long as Jackson and Nkunku keep scoring, though, Enzo Maresca will not be thinking about or demanding a new centre-forward.
So far, the Chelsea manager will be happy with Jackson and Nkunku’s contribution to the team this season.
