Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Chelsea’s interest in one centre-forward.

This summer, Chelsea have already signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona.

However, Guiu is only 18 and could leave Stamford Bridge on loan. It is being reported that Chelsea could let Guiu join Sevilla for the 2024/25 season.

It means the Blues could sign another striker before the transfer window closes.

There are a few names that they have been heavily linked with in recent weeks.

Chelsea have opportunity to sign 26-goal striker

There has been a lot of talk about Chelsea being interested in the likes of Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Lille’s Jonathan David.

However, Duran could be set for a move to West Ham United this summer.

As for David, Romano says Chelsea have an opportunity to sign the 24-year-old in a potential £21m deal. As of now, though, the Blues are yet to make any kind of offer for him.

Speaking about Chelsea and David, the transfer expert told GiveMeSport: “Something around €20-25million could be enough to land the player. So there could be an opportunity.

“At the moment, Chelsea have not presented any proposal from what I’m told, so it’s still early or all quiet around Chelsea and Jonathan David — apart from the interest they can have for the opportunity. For David at the moment, it’s not a proper negotiation.”

David was in red-hot form for Lille last season, scoring 26 goals in 47 appearances.

Chelsea face competition from Newcastle United to sign Jonathan David

If Chelsea want to sign David, then they may need to see off competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle also have an interest in David.

Given the season that the Canada international has just had and how little he could cost, it is not a surprise to hear that multiple Premier League clubs are looking at him right now.

Chelsea should act fast, then, if they do want to bring in David this summer. And with Canada now out of the Copa America, it could be a good time to strike.
