Napoli and Antonio Conte look really desperate to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer.
There is one problem, though: Victor Osimhen. A move for Romelu Lukaku is unlikely to happen until Osimhen leaves Napoli.
But Osimhen departing is also not a straightforward matter. The Nigerian has a huge release clause in his contract, which no one seems willing to activate at this moment in time.
Saudi Arabia could be an option for Osimhen. Clubs there should be able to afford him. But if not, then Napoli are going to have to lower their asking price for the 25-year-old.
With that being said, they seem to be considering another option, which could be extremely good news for Chelsea.

Napoli could be ready to discuss Victor Osimhen with Chelsea
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Osimhen, and it looks like they could get the chance to sign the Nigeria international without triggering his release clause.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, in their bid to land Lukaku, Napoli could be open to discussing Osimhen as part of their talks with Chelsea for their 31-year-old striker.
On X, Romano posted: “Napoli keep looking for solutions for Victor Osimhen as they want to bring in Romelu Lukaku as soon as possible.
“Understand Napoli could also be open to discussing Osimhen as part of Lukaku talks with Chelsea.”
Chelsea had thought PSG were winning the Osimhen race, but they appear to have reached a stalemate with Napoli because of the player’s price tag.
Napoli should let Chelsea offer money plus Romelu Lukaku for Victor Osimhen
With no one clearly willing to activate Osimhen’s release clause, Napoli are going to have to sell the former Lille man for a lower price.
It is logical, then, for the them to propose to Chelsea a deal that would see the Blues pay some money while letting Lukaku reunite with Conte.
Lukaku clearly wants out of Chelsea, not playing for the club since 2022, while Osimhen will fulfil a dream by moving to Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen has made it a goal to play in England one day. He can obviously achieve it by joining Chelsea, but Napoli are going to have to be open to the idea of some kind of swap deal involving both Osimhen and Lukaku.
