One Chelsea youngster looks like he’s about to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis in the closing stages of the January transfer window.
The Chelsea academy continues to produce so many exceptional young talents every year, but it’s impossible to promote them all to the first-team squad.
Zain Silcott-Duberry left Chelsea to join Bournemouth earlier in the month. The 19-year-old’s since made his Premier League debut in Bournemouth colours, too.
Now, another Blues academy graduate is on the verge of leaving permanently in search of first-team football.

Harvey Vale set for QPR medical as he prepares to leave Chelsea on permanent basis
Blues youngster Harvey Vale, 21, looks like he’s about to exit the club he’s been with since the age of 12.
Chelsea talent Vale agreed personal terms with Queens Park Rangers as he looks for a way out of Stamford Bridge. Now, fresh rumours suggest he’s on the brink of joining the Championship side.
According to The Daily Mail, Vale is set to join QPR after they agreed the final terms of the deal to sign the Chelsea academy graduate.
Apparently, the Blues have waived a transfer fee in lieu of a handsome sell-on clause with bonus payments also built in based on appearances. The report adds that the 21-year-old Englishman will now undergo his QPR medical, possibly on Friday, before the move becomes official.
Vale’s contract with the Blues expires this summer and they had the option of triggering it for an extra year, but he’ll now pursue a first-team career in the Championship.
Sunderland held interest in signing Chelsea’s Vale this month, but he’s set to stay in West London with neighbours QPR.
QPR are signing a youngster from Chelsea with massive talent. The left-footed technician has the versatility to play so many positions, whether that’s in wide or central midfield roles. He’s been a big goal threat for the Blues U21s team in the first half of this season, too.

What Lewis Hall once said about Harvey Vale
Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, who previously developed in Chelsea’s academy himself, actually spoke very highly of former teammate Vale a few years ago.
Back in 2022, Hall was very excited about ‘gifted’ Chelsea playmaker Vale. He said: “One player from the academy that people should look out for is Harvey Vale. Obviously, he’s already experienced minutes with the first team. He’s a very technically gifted player and he works hard and can play in a number of positions as well.”
Vale has made seven first-team appearances in Chelsea colours, plus he’s spent time out on loan with Hull City and Bristol Rovers as part of his development.
He’s now on the verge of joining QPR as a talented individual who’s got the potential to rip up the Championship.
