Chelsea have held talks about bringing Atalanta No.17 Rasmus Hojlund to Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino looks for a new striker.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

What’s the story?
Well, Romano made the claim when speaking about Chelsea’s recruitment plans on AMP, adding that there is also an admiration for Victor Osimhen by those at Stamford Bridge.
The reliable Italian journalist said: “Chelsea’s striker signing is still a priority this summer. They like Victor Osimhen.
“They have had conversations in terms of the conditions of the deal for Rasmus Hojlund about many different options, but they haven’t decided who yet.”
A story from The Times adds that Chelsea can sign the Denmark international for £40m this summer, a sum which could prove to be a bargain if he continues to develop at this rate.
Hojlund has drawn comparisons to his fellow Scandinavian in Erling Haaland after bursting onto the European scene this season, scoring 16 goals in 42 appearances while also providing seven assists.
The Dane was even called a “goal machine” by his Denmark teammate Alexander Bah after scoring a hat-trick on his full international debut against Finland.
Hojlund would be a fantastic Havertz replacement for Chelsea
In our view, Hojlund would be an ideal replacement for Kai Havertz this summer.
The Germany international has told Chelsea he wants to leave – according to the Guardian – with Real Madrid keen to sign him after losing Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia.
Havertz would surely improve on his tally of seven goals in 35 Premier League appearances from the 2022/23 campaign under Pochettino next term.
However – in our view at least – Hojlund, who is significantly quicker than the German, would suit the Argentine’s playing style more effectively.
The Dane’s runs in behind defences and his strong finishing ability could see him become Pochettino’s new Heung-min Son at Chelsea.
