Jorginho’s immediate future will be to remain with Chelsea, it’s been confirmed by his agent.
Jorginho, 30, is a Blues midfielder whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2023.
It’s previously been reported that it’s “unlikely” Chelsea will offer the Italy international a contract extension, so an exit from West London could be on the cards. Serie A clubs Juventus, Lazio and AC Milan are reportedly potential suitors for him, too.
Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, explained last month’s his client’s aim was to sign a contract extension at the Bridge. A return to his homeland wasn’t completely ruled out, though.
Santos has given a latest update on Chelsea’s £50million player by saying his future at present will be to stay where he is due to the takeover process.
“Negotiation with Juve for Jorginho? Chelsea are currently unable to buy, sell, lend or renew. I spoke to the management of the Blues, without a change of ownership nothing can be done. That being the case and without a buyer for the club, he stays 100% in London. At the moment, there can be no negotiations with Juve,” Joao Santos told CalcioMercato.

Jorginho’s underrated Chelsea career
First of all, there will need to be a change of ownership sorted out before Chelsea can look at moving on players.
With one year remaining on his contract, it could make sense for the Blues to cash in on Jorginho.
However, he should be remembered very fondly if he goes.
The deep-lying midfielder playmaker has had to weather the storm of some harsh criticism over the years, but he’s stuck to his principals of how he plays football.
There aren’t many in the game that look as composed as him on the ball and can help dictate games when he’s in the mood.
He’s completed the European set of the Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup in a Chelsea shirt. He’ll hope for his first domestic trophy with the Blues in next month’s FA Cup final against Liverpool.
