Chelsea remain in talks to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid this summer after cooling their interest in Samu Omorodion.
Chelsea were planning to buy Samu Omorodion, which would have paved the way for Conor Gallagher to move to Atletico Madrid.
However, the Blues pulled out of a deal to sign the striker, leaving their Spanish counterparts without the necessary funds to sign Gallagher.
Things have got very messy, but Atletico could still end up getting their money and Gallagher if Chelsea sign Felix. Felix would like to join Chelsea this summer, so a deal is very much possible.

Atletico may not be happy with Chelsea right now after what has happened with Omorodion.
However, there is clearly not a complete breakdown in relationship between the two clubs, with football.london reporting that they remain in talks over the potential transfer of Felix.
The same outlet has also claimed that the forward’s camp are becoming more confident that a deal can be struck, so this is definitely one to continue keeping an eye on.
Felix’s agent is working hard on a Chelsea transfer and with a couple of weeks still to go in the window, it could happen.
Good reason for Joao Felix’s camp to be optimistic
Atletico want Gallagher and have not viewed Felix as an important player for a while.
He spent last season out on loan at Barcelona after a temporary stint with Chelsea during the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.
Ultimately, Atletico would probably be more than happy to move the Portugal international on this summer.
They are just waiting for Chelsea to pay up. Of course, the Blues are not just going to meet Atletico’s demands like that. They do not need to when you look at all of the current attacking options in Enzo Maresca‘s squad.
But if they want Gallagher to join the La Liga outfit before the transfer window closes, then they need to agree a deal for Felix.
