Chelsea are frequently linked with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as the summer transfer window reaches its closing stages.
It’s been rumoured that the Blues are after a new No.9 this summer, but they’ve got less than 48 hours before Friday’s deadline.
The Guardian claims that Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca still wants to sign a striker and a defender. It feels like it could be a busy couple of days at Stamford Bridge still.
Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen, 25, is heavily linked with a move to West London. He’s certainly got lots of pedigree after 76 goals in 133 games for the Serie A club.
Meanwhile, Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney is rumoured to be an alternative who knows the Premier League inside out already.

How much Chelsea would pay for Ivan Toney
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are convinced that they’ll sign a new centre-forward before the window closes, whether that’s Osimhen or Toney.
It is understood that Napoli’s talisman has been the preferred target for the Blues, but it’s proving difficult to get a deal done.
The report says that Chelsea are willing to offer £50m for Toney should they fail to get Osimhen. Interestingly, that £50m fee would match Brentford’s demands this summer.
In addition, Chelsea have done more work on a potential deal for Toney than rival buyers Arsenal.
Ivan Toney feels like a Chelsea striker
Based on Toney’s overall profile, he would be an excellent addition for Chelsea if they end up signing him this week. A deal for £50m feels like a good one for all parties, too.
The Englishman is a powerful centre-forward that fits exactly what the Blues need, someone that’s a ready-made product who can lead the line and score goals.
If Chelsea can rotate between Toney and Nicolas Jackson this campaign, they should be really optimistic of a big year when you consider all the other talent around them.
