Christopher Nkunku only joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023, but there’s now widespread speculation about him potentially leaving Stamford Bridge.

Christopher Nkunku, 27, went through a frustrating debut season at Chelsea last year that was wrecked by injury. As for this campaign so far, the French attacker has scored an impressive tally of 13 goals in 28 games across all competitions. It doesn’t tell the story that he’s struggling for starts in the Premier League, though.

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku as they look to take him back to the German Bundesliga. Can they now find an agreement with the Blues, though?

How much Chelsea value Christopher Nkunku at as Bayern Munich circle

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea currently value Nkunku at around £65m and they’re intent on signing a replacement this month if he leaves.

It is unknown whether or not Bayern will meet the £65m valuation or try to negotiate a lower fee. Apparently, Nkunku has already indicated his desire to move to the Allianz Arena.

The report mentions that Chelsea are willing to bid for Bayern attacker Mathys Tel, 19, if they receive encouragement in this window. Bayern want in excess of £40m for Chelsea target Tel, so let’s wait and see what happens as a chaotic January window unfolds.

Even though Nkunku is contributing in a big way to the Chelsea squad this season, it’s quite damning that he’s only started three times in the league.

Jason Cundy has been worried Nkunku could leave Chelsea because of his lack of minutes. Well, it looks like Bayern are actively pursuing his signature right now.

Christopher Nkunku could be a bargain for Bayern Munich

Chelsea paid £52m (BBC) when they signed Nkunku from German side Leipzig less than two years ago. If Bayern sign the Frenchman for the quoted £65m price in this window, we think it could actually turn out to be a bit of a bargain for them.

Nkunku would be returning to a division where he’s proven he can be a huge success. He should be about to enter his prime years, too.

Bayern great Thomas Muller, 35, is out of contract in the summer. It could be a natural succession to see Nkunku replace him in the squad.

The versatile Chelsea attacker can’t seem to find any consistency in his performances, which obviously isn’t helped by the stop-start nature of his season. But if Nkunku goes to Bayern, we could see him scoring lots of goals and fitting into a team that dominates possession.
