Mauricio Pochettino personally added Paulo Dybala to Chelsea’s shortlist after Joao Felix and Mason Mount departed Stamford Bridge.

That is according to Mundo Deportivo.

So, what is the latest on Paulo Dybala and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, this rumour seems to be hotting up.

Thiago Silva revealed he has spoken to Dybala about Chelsea and also admitted he would love to have the Argentina international with him at Stamford Bridge, who he feels is a “top player”.

Now – according to Mundo Deportivo – Pochettino himself is making a strong push for the Roma No.21’s signature.

The Spanish news outlet believe the 51-year-old asked Todd Boehly and those on the recruitment team at Stamford Bridge to make a move for the 29-year-old forward, after he scored 18 goals in all competitions last season.

However, Mundo Deportivo add that Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Dybala, who has a hugely affordable release clause worth just €12m (£10m) written into his contract.

Pochettino loves Chelsea target Dybala

This rumour is very likely to be true, as Pochettino has previously expressed his admiration for Dybala in the past.

The South American tactician called his fellow countryman one of the “best in the world” before Tottenham took on Juventus back in 2018 – he also described him as a “special talent”.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Pochettino said: “I think Dybala will recover and I hope he does, because I think it’s always nice to play against the best in the world.

“I put Dybala in that category, because he is a special talent and seeing him on the pitch is wonderful, even if he might cause your team a few problems.”

Clearly, the Chelsea boss is a big fan of the Roma talisman, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see them together at Stamford Bridge next season, especially due to Dybala’s £10m release clause.
