Arsenal have made a habit of signing players from Chelsea in recent years, and fresh reports suggest they may not be done yet.

Even though Chelsea and Arsenal are big rivals on the pitch, it’s not uncommon that they conduct business together in the transfer market.

The Gunners confirmed at the start of July that they’ve completed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, 30, from Chelsea. Arsenal were impressed by Kepa’s desire to join them after a successful loan spell at Bournemouth last season

Kepa becomes the latest individual to arrive at the Emirates Stadium from Stamford Bridge in the last five years.

Mikel Arteta reaches out to Noni Madueke

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, 23, is the latest Blues player linked with a potential move across London to Arsenal.

Recent reports claimed that Arsenal have been considering a move for Madueke because he’s one of the names on their transfer shortlist. Elsewhere, it’s been reported that Madueke is almost certain to leave Chelsea amid interest from Atletico Madrid as well.

Journalist Simon Phillips now claims via Substack that Arsenal are in talks with Madueke’s agents to sell the idea of joining them.

Apparently, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is reaching out to the Chelsea winger because he really likes the player and is trying to convince him to join. His club are yet to make any kind of offer, though.

Phillips adds that Madueke is not convinced by a move to Arsenal, largely because he doesn’t want to play on the left wing and he could be a backup to Bukayo Saka on the right wing.

Arsenal fans aren’t sold on the idea of signing Madueke, so perhaps they’ll see this update as good news.

Noni Madueke is on the rise

Even though Madueke isn’t the finished article yet, it’s quite obvious that he’s a player gradually getting better.

In his Blues career, the left-footed winger has started to improve his goal output. Also, the right-winger has shown his versatility to operate from the left flank as well.

The competition for places at the Bridge is only going to ramp up next season with the arrival of young wonderkid Estevao Willian. Also, Borussia Dortmund wide man Jamie Gittens will reportedly join the club.

If Madueke knuckles down and fancies another season in Chelsea colours, we still think he’s got plenty to offer.
